End of life care training for the domiciliary workforce

Video will be available shortly

Tender Care Partnership Director, Kym Billington-Baddley, and Project Manager Ruth Beard talk about the end of life care training they’ve delivered to domiciliary care workforce in the West Midlands.

Some domiciliary workers may become involved in discussions about end of life with the people they care for.  It is essential to prepare workers for these conversations to ensure that service users can prepare themselves for a quality end of life.

The training is delivered by an experienced NHS nurse; whose knowledge and skill base has encouraged care workers to really take advantage of the expertise available to delve deeply into the issues that surround end of life.

In this film, made in 2012, Ruth explains how it is vital to remember that all service users are individuals, and through good communication and understanding, domiciliary care workers can play an essential role in helping to provide end of life care.
