Anaesthetist talks about using simulation for training

Video will be available shortly

In this interview in 2009, Dr Ruth Francis says handing over to a new anaesthetist during surgery is an extremely important process.

Using a simulation dummy called SimMan, different surgical scenarios are mocked up to give medical staff the chance to practise situations they are likely to come across at work.

Dr Francis is taking a year out of her career to help train medical students and current staff and is doing research in medical education at the same time.
