Surgeon explains the role of simulation in training

Video will be available shortly

In this interview, made in 2009, Ian Fraser talks about the education of graduates and undergraduates at the University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW).

He is a liver, pancreas and hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) surgeon.

Medical students can practise on three mannequin simulation patients and a simulation baby, acting out scenarios they may come across during their work.

As a teaching fellow Mr Fraser helps train the next generation of medics and develops as an educator. He says teaching fellows have been a fantastic innovation for the trust.
