Mental Health Extended E-learning Course

< Back to the Generic Service Intervention: Dementia Competency Framework

This course by the Centre for Pharmacy Postraduate Education (CPPE) looks at depression, anxiety and sleep disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, older people and dementia and children and adolescents. It concludes by looking at supporting people with mental illness across all settings.

The course is aimed at pharmacists, pre-registration pharmacy trainees and registered pharmacy technicians and takes approximately 40 hours to complete.

The live course runs for eight weeks and CPPE estimate it takes around four to five hours of learning per week. Each week consists of core learning with options for extending the learning.
Students engage with other learners for the full duration of the course. They take part in active discussion forums, problem solving activities and interactions, thus sharing best practice. Participants have the support of an online tutor and other pharmacy professionals.

Start dates are advertised on CPPE website.
Those not able to join the live programme or who prefer to work alone can access the course at all times. This route does not allow the individual to be part of a learning group and there is no access to an online tutor. All of the learning materials, questions and suggested answers can be accessed this way.
