How e-ELCA has helped hospice drivers

Video will be available shortly

Theresa Barker, Head of Education at St Giles Hospice, explains how the End of Life Care for All e-learning programme (e-ELCA) has helped provide volunteer drivers with information about advanced care planning, communication and other vital end of life issues.

In this film, made in 2012, Theresa explains that drivers have contact with patients and carers at home and at the hospice, and may have experience and insights which hospice based staff may not.

Volunteer drivers have embraced the opportunities provided through e-ELCA, and have used the resource to help them learn more about advanced care planning.  The benefits of using the resource are now being spread by word of mouth, and many more drivers are expressing interest in e-ELCA.
