Agnes & Nancy (Film)

< Back to the Generic Service Intervention: Dementia Competency Framework

Agnes was diagnosed with dementia in her fifties. Five years have passed and she is still struggling with her new identity, and the loss of who she once was.

A short documentary film made by Anne Milne is part of the project funded by the Economic and Social Research Council under the Follow on Funding Scheme, Principal Investigator, Dr Ruth Bartlett, Senior Lecturer, University of Southampton; Co-Investigator Ms Caroline Hick, Fellow in Visual Arts, University of Bradford.

This is an empowering and thought provoking film about two women living with dementia and their developing friendship and the sharing of their skills and interests.  It helps challenge negative thinking and language about people with dementia and encourage change of attitudes and inspiration in developing a more dementia friendly society.
