Safeguarding Children

Safeguarding Children was developed by HEE West Midlands with input from designated doctors, nurses, Warwick Medical School and the Postgraduate School of Paediatrics to help professionals recognise signs from children who are, or who may be, suffering abuse.

It is for all healthcare staff up to level 2, including dental clinical staff.

There are eight modules, including six case studies that give learners the opportunity to see how you would respond to different situations you may encounter. These take approximately 10 - 15 minutes to complete and can be done in any order.

The course as a whole takes about two hours to complete in all and can be done at the learner's own pace.

Learning and development managers can access this course and deliver it to their staff groups. This can be done by launching the course and registering as an individual.

Having completed the course, learners will be better able to recognise signs from children who are, or who may be, suffering abuse and know the best courses of action in those situations.

Estimated time to complete: 2 hours
